Conference to focus on Strategic Action Plan on Health 2014-2023, including combating communicable and non-communicable diseases, health emergencies and disaster situations
RIYADH, December 3, 2017– Health ministers from the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states will hold their sixth conference from December 5 to 7 in the Red Sea port city of Jeddah.
The conference, to be held under the theme “Health in All Policies”, will focus on ways to achieve the objectives of OIC’s Strategic Action Plan on Health 2014-2023, with special emphases on polio-eradication campaigns, prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases and health emergencies and disaster situations.
The chairman of the OIC Group of Vaccine Manufacturers will present a case report on self-reliance in this segment.
The ministers will discuss maternal mortality and child health, self-reliance in the provision and production of medicines, vaccines and medical technology, as well as general health conditions in Palestine and on the occupied Golan Heights.
