The Saudi Grains Organization says the wheat is for February-April 2018 delivery and brings to about 3 million tons the supply contracted this year
RIYADH, December 4 (CIC) – Saudi Arabia has awarded contracts to import 495,000 tons of wheat to be supplied between February and April of next year, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.
“The Saudi Grains Organization has awarded the fifth batch of imported solid wheat for the year 2017 AD amounting to 495,000 tons to be supplied during ‘February – April 2018’ on board 8 ships, through Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam,” SPA reported.
Including the latest batch, state-owned Saudi Grains Organization has already contracted this year to import nearly 3 million tons of wheat, said the organisation’s Governor, Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Al-Fares.
