RIYADH, January 8 (CIC) – Iranian-Houthi militia fired a number of mortar shells at the populated residential areas in eastern neighborhoods of Taiz on Saturday and injured several civilians in Al-Ashbat neighbourhood.
Among those injured Yemeni civilians, Hassan Mohammed Al Hajj and Massad Naji, sustained shrapnel injuries from the exploded shell that landed in front of of Al-Thawra General Hospital. They were immediately taken to the hospital to receive emergency treatment.
“The shell came from the Houban area and was fired by the Houthi militias,” said a resident of Al-Ashbat, Habib Abdul Ghalib.
The shell hit the public street in front of the hospital and caused damage to the street, property, and neighboring buildings.
51-year-old Al-Hajj, a patient of liver failure, was injured by shrapnel in the central area of the thigh in his left leg and 45-year-old Naji was wounded with a shrapnel injury to the jaw. Their injuries were not fatal and their condition is now stable.
The Arab Coalition Forces for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen condemns continuous violations of international humanitarian law by Iranian-Houthi militias who are putting all their effort into prolonging the conflict in Yemen and are only bringing ruin on the people of Yemen.
